Baby Shower at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project

Saturday, February 22, 2020 27 Sh'vat 5780

10:00 AM - 12:00 PMOffsite

Join Rabbi Hyman on Shabbat, Saturday, February 22, from 10:00 AM to noon, and support new immigrant mothers and moms-to-be with a baby shower at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, 1530 James M Wood Blvd., Los Angeles. Esperanza provides legal aid, family education, and pro bono representation in immigration proceedings to unaccompanied minors and other vulnerable new immigrants in our community. Esperanza is accepting new or gently used clothing and items for babies up to two years of age. Staff attorneys and some newly released detainees will share their experiences. We can offer support and needed baby supplies.

1. If you are able to donate GENTLY used clothing or gear (including large items) for babies up to 24 months, please bring them to KI this week for donation.

2. If you are able to purchase new items for babies up to 24 months, we have created an Amazon baby registry HERE that will ship items directly to Esperanza.

3. If you would like to attend the shower in downtown LA (1530 James M Wood Blvd), please contact KI member Laura Diamond for more information (laurandiamond@gmail.com).

4. If you are unable to join this effort but would like to be included in future events spearheaded by the new KI Refugee Action (KIRA) group, please contact Rabbi Micah Hyman (rabbihyman@ourki.org) to be added to his distribution list.
