Recipes:
SCHUG
- 3 large jalapeno peppers (seeds and membranes removed) diced
- 3 tightly packed cups of fresh cilantro
- extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 small garlic clove
- salt
- coriander seeds or ground coriander
- cumin seeds or ground cumin
Yemenite Charoset
• ½ cup chopped almonds
• ½ cup chopped walnuts
• 8 ounces pitted dates
• ½ cup raisins
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
• ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
fresh ground pepper
• sweet red wine or date syrup
BONUS: bag of semi sweet chocolate chips
Algerian Eggplant salad
1 eggplant (about 1 pound)
2 pounds red bell peppers
2 pounds fresh tomatoes or a 28-ounce can San Marzano tomatoes
6 tablespoons olive oil
6 cloves garlic, chopped
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Juice of 1 lemon
4 tablespoons chopped cilantro
