About Danny Maseng & Israel@76: The Beauty, The Heartbreak, The Passion
Danny Maseng's coming of age was the coming of age of the State of Israel. Born in Israel to American parents, Danny was raised in a family intimately connected with the very beginnings of Israel’s foundation.
Danny first came to the United States to star on Broadway in 'Only Fools Are Sad' under the auspices of then, Prime Minister Golda Meir.
Danny is also one of the most popular and respected composers of contemporary liturgical and synagogue music.
In the U.S. Danny has served as Director of the Spielberg Fellowships for Theater, as the Artistic Director of The Brandeis-Bardin Institute as the Cantor of Temple Israel of Hollywood and most recently, as Chazzan and Spiritual Leader of Makom Los Angeles.
A much sought-after Scholar/Artist-in-Residence, Danny has spent four decades traveling the world, inspiring, teaching, and rekindling the love of Judaism through Torah, Hassidut, Jewish culture, and the Arts.
This Yom Ha'atzmaut come experience 'Israel: The Passion, The Beauty, The Heartbreak' as Danny weaves songs that span 76 years of Israel's history; songs reflecting the cultural mosaic of its people; songs of love, war, the beauty of the land, and the hopes, dreams and aspirations of its people coupled with liturgical gems of Shabbat!
