Regardless of your personal politics every vote counts. Here are some critical dates and links so that you can safely vote in the November election in the State of California:

Deadline to REGISTER TO VOTE is Friday, October 19th, 2020

Registering can be done online by clicking here: https://registertovote.ca.gov or by mail.
- If you would like to register using a paper voter registration application, you can pick one up at your county elections office, library, Department of Motor Vehicles offices, or U.S. post office.
- It is important that your voter registration application be filled out completely and be postmarked or hand-delivered to your county elections office by at least October 19th.
- To request a paper voter registration application be mailed to you, please call (800) 345-VOTE (8683) or email Elections Division staff.

Deadline to Mail in Your Vote - All California registered voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 3, 2020, General Election. Registered voters do not have to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot for this election. Instead of going to the polls on Election Day, you may vote using the vote-by-mail ballot that will be sent to you.
- Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before November 3rd and received by your county elections office no

- Vote-by-mail ballots will start being automatically sent to registered voters in California on October 5th
- The USPS recommends voters mail their ballot at least one week prior to the state deadline, by October 27th.

- Deadline to Drop Off Your Vote- You may also return your voted ballot by:
- Returning it in person to a polling place or the office of your county elections official. Vote-by-mail ballots that are personally delivered must be delivered no later that the close of polls at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
- Dropping your ballot into one of your county's ballot drop boxes. Vote-by-mail ballot that are personally delivered to a ballot drop-off location must be delivered no later than the close of polls at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day; or
- Authorizing someone to return the ballot on your behalf. Anyone may return your ballot for you, as long as they do not get paid on a per ballot basis. In order for your ballot to be counted, you must fill out the authorization section found on the outside of your ballot envelope.
